As a Supplier, what are the best practices when I use two systems (Swift and DTN) to manage / restrict fuel allocation supply for my customers?
ONEOK and DTN work together to allow suppliers loading flexibility and coverage for their customers. However, using two allocation systems can present problems if both systems are not updated together. To avoid issues, follow the best practices as outlined below when setting up Customer Authorizations. What is a Customer Authorization?
Customer Authorizations allow suppliers to restrict loading parameters for their customers. These including:
- Product type
- Product Volume
- Product Loading Frequency
- DTN / TABS requires the use of a ONEOK Loading Control (Petroex Number) which is generated in SWIFT when setting up a Customer Authorization.
- If a supplier uses DTN / TABS they are able to restrict loading parameters the same as Customer Authorization's.
How Should I set up a Customer Authorization If I use DTN / TABS?
- In order to avoid having to continuously update two systems (Swift and DTN), Suppliers should set up the Authorization Type as: UNLIMITED.
- The supplier can then use the DTN system for specific restrictions on a per terminal basis (Product type, Product Volume, and Loading Frequency).
