What are the different trailer statuses and what do they represent?

There are 6 statuses that represent the status of the trailer at Magellan.

1. PENDING

Meaning for the User: This status indicates that the trailer information has been submitted and is currently in the process of being transferred.

Loading Permission: Loading is not permitted at this stage.

Actions: Users can monitor the status while the information is being transferred. No further action is required until the transfer is completed.

2. ACTIVE

Meaning for the User: The trailer is in an active state, which means that all required documents and compartments have been successfully added to SWIFT/TAS. The trailer is within its effective period and has not expired.

Loading Permission: Loading is permitted, and the trailer is ready for dispatch.

Actions: Users can proceed with dispatching the trailer for transportation. Ensure that the trailer remains compliant and within the effective period.

3. INACTIVE

Meaning for the User: The trailer is in an inactive state, signifying that the necessary documents and compartments have been added to SWIFT/TAS, but the trailer has exceeded its effective period, making it non-compliant.

Loading Permission: No loading is permitted since the trailer's compliance has expired.

Actions: Users must take immediate action to renew compliance documents and update the trailer's effective date to resume loading operations.

4. WARNING (EXCEPTION)

Meaning for the User: This status indicates that the trailer information was submitted but encountered an error during the transfer process. It is an exceptional condition that requires attention.

Loading Permission: Loading is not permitted due to the unresolved error.

Actions: Users should investigate the error message and take corrective actions as needed to resolve the issue. Once the error is resolved, the trailer can be updated to an appropriate status.

5. GRACE PERIOD

Meaning for the User: The trailer was created by the terminal operator, and it is currently within the grace period of 7 days.

Loading Permission: Loading is permitted during the grace period.

Actions: Users can utilize the grace period to submit the required compartments and documents to maintain compliance. It is essential to act promptly to avoid transitioning to the "DEACTIVATED" status.

6. DEACTIVATED

Meaning for the User: The trailer was created by the terminal operator, but the user failed to submit compartments and documents before the grace period expired.

Loading Permission: Loading is not permitted since the trailer is non-compliant.

Actions: Users must submit the necessary compartments and documents to regain compliance. Once compliance is restored, the trailer can be updated to "ACTIVE" to resume loading operations.

Understanding and managing trailer statuses is crucial for ensuring compliance, safety, and operational efficiency in SWIFT DISPATCH. Users should take appropriate actions based on the status of their trailers to maintain compliance and avoid disruptions to their transportation operations.
