How to edit an existing trailer?

Managing a fleet of trailers involves various tasks, including making updates and modifications as needed. In SWIFT DISPATCH, editing a trailer is a seamless process designed to give you complete control over your fleet management.

Step 1: Click on the EDIT Button

Editing a trailer in SWIFT DISPATCH starts with the first step – click on the EDIT button for the specific trailer you wish to modify. This button serves as the gateway to access and update the trailer's information.

Step 2: Update Information

Once you've entered the editing interface, you'll have the ability to update various pieces of information related to the trailer. This may include details such as the trailer compliance documents, the trailer capacity, and the trailer effective date.

Step 3: Click on SAVE

After you've made the necessary changes and updates, it's essential to save your modifications. To do this, simply click on the SAVE button within the editing interface. This action confirms your changes and updates the trailer's information accordingly.

Note: User Permissions

Please note that certain actions, such as editing a trailer, may require specific user permissions. Ensure that you have the necessary authorization to edit trailer information in SWIFT DISPATCH (MANAGE permissions are required to edit a load).

Note: Editing Trailer Capacity

Please also note that the trailer capacity is used in the Load sub-module to ensure that the load does not exceed the compartment capacity of the trailer. If you edit a trailer capacity after it is used to create a draft load or a load, then you will encounter an error or you might be prompted to delete all associated loads before allowing you to edit the trailer's capacity.
