How do users use the 'Manage Batch' feature?

This article explains the new 'Manage Batch' feature that simplifies how users manage the Batch, Shipment(s), and Distribution(s).

Shipping > Batches > Edit Batch

1. Manage Batch, Associated Shipment(s), and Associated Distribution(s) all from one screen, eliminating the need to navigate between different views.
2. A reorganized layout allows users to see the layers of Batch with minimal scrolling on desktop resolutions.
3. Addition of 'Batch Status Details' to better understand error statuses.
4. New 'Associated Shipments' table for creating and editing shipments.
5. 'Edit Distributions' button opens a drawer where users can add, edit, and delete any Associated Distribution with the Shipment.
6. Footer action menu keeps common batch actions readily available at the bottom of the page:
   • Save Changes button: Submit changes made to the Batch Details and Associated Shipments with the press of one button.
   • New Shipment button: Add a new row to the Associated Shipment table
   • Cancel Batch option: Cancel the Batch and any Associated Shipment(s) and Distribution(s) in one seamless workflow.
7. A unified view for both editing and viewing Batches that adapts based on the Batch status and the user's user permissions:
   • If a movement is "open" and hasn't started moving, users can edit.
   • After a Batch is Canceled, In Transit, or Shipped, the view becomes read-only.
     

What can users do in the Associated Shipments table?

• Select and click into a cell to modify configurable fields in the Associated Shipment table
  • The interface alerts users if they attempt to reduce the volume below the total volume of Distributions associated with the Shipment.
• Select Edit under the Edit Distribution(s) column to Add/Manage Distributions associated with the Shipment.

• When users modify the Shipment volume (up or down) and click Save, Swift displays a confirmation modal to ensure users are aware of the new total Batch volume.

What can I do with Distributions from the Edit Batch View?

• Create new Distributions associated with a Shipment
• Edit existing Distributions
• Delete unwanted Distributions
• Form validations and checks are performed automatically to ensure users are creating valid transactions.

How do user create a new Associated Shipment from the Edit Batch View?

1. Click the New Shipment button in the footer action menu.
2. A new row appears in the Associated Shipments table.
3. Select and click into the desired cell to input the required fields for the Shipment.
4. After all required fields are correctly entered, the Save Changes button becomes active in the footer action menu.
5. When users modify Shipment volume and click Save, Swift presents a confirmation modal showing the new total Batch volume.
